Flooring in Adelaide Hills

We are based in Mount Barker, so the Hills is home. Most of our work is within twenty minutes of the shed, which means we can get out to measure quickly and we are not adding travel to your quote.

Hills homes bring their own problems. Older stone cottages with floors that have moved, split level houses with awkward stairs, and a climate that puts real moisture through a subfloor in winter. We assess for that before we quote rather than finding out about it on install day.

Where we work in the Adelaide Hills

Stirling SA 5152

About 20 minutes from Mount Barker.

Stirling homes tend to be renovated properly rather than patched, which usually means wide board engineered timber, herringbone in an entry or quality wool carpet in the bedrooms. Plenty of the housing is older and set into a slope, so stairs and subfloor levelling matter more here than in flatter suburbs.

Aldgate SA 5154

About 20 minutes from Mount Barker.

Aldgate is renovation country. Established homes on big blocks, owners who intend to stay, and a preference for finishes that will still look right in fifteen years. Damp is a real consideration in the older places up here through winter, so subfloor assessment matters before a floating floor goes anywhere near it.

Littlehampton SA 5250

About 5 minutes from Mount Barker.

Littlehampton is five minutes from the shed, so it is one of the easiest places for us to get to for a measure. Older homes near the main street and newer builds on the edges, and the two want quite different things from a floor.

Nairne SA 5252

About 10 minutes from Mount Barker.

Nairne is ten minutes east. Growing steadily, with a lot of newer housing going in alongside the older cottages closer to town. New builds usually want hybrid or laminate through the living areas with carpet to the bedrooms, and the older places almost always need subfloor work first.

Bridgewater SA 5155

About 18 minutes from Mount Barker.

Bridgewater sits in a gully, which is lovely to look at and hard on a subfloor. Moisture through winter is a genuine factor in the older homes here, and it decides whether a floating floor is the right call or whether something else suits better. We check rather than assume.

Crafers SA 5152

About 22 minutes from Mount Barker.

Crafers is the closest Hills suburb to the city, and a lot of homes here are renovated to a high standard. Plenty of split levels and staircases, which is where matching a wrapped staircase to the floor through the rest of the house matters most.

Woodside SA 5244

About 20 minutes from Mount Barker.

Woodside covers a wide spread of rural properties as well as the township itself. Longer driveways and bigger houses, and often a full floor changeover rather than one room at a time, which is worth planning properly so the family is not living around it for a week.

Balhannah SA 5242

About 15 minutes from Mount Barker.

Balhannah and the surrounding valley properties, fifteen minutes from base. A lot of rural blocks and bigger houses out this way, where it usually makes more sense to do the whole house at once than one room at a time.

Echunga SA 5153

About 12 minutes from Mount Barker.

Echunga is a short run from Mount Barker. Older cottages and rural properties, where subfloor preparation is almost always part of the conversation before we talk about what goes on top of it.

Strathalbyn SA 5255

About 25 minutes from Mount Barker.

Strathalbyn has a lot of period housing worth doing justice to, and properties here turn over steadily. Fresh flooring is one of the more visible things a vendor can do before a campaign, and we can work to a listing timeline when that is what the job needs.

Common questions

Do you have a showroom?

No, and that is deliberate. We bring the samples to you, at your home or workplace, at a time that suits. You get to see the colours in the room they are going into instead of under showroom lighting, and there is no one hovering while you decide.

How much does new flooring cost?

It depends on the product, the size of the area and what the subfloor needs first. We measure on site and give you a written quote with the lot in it, including removal of the old floor, so there are no surprises later. Quotes are free and there is no obligation.

What areas do you cover?

We are based in Mount Barker and cover the Adelaide Hills, the Fleurieu Peninsula and greater Adelaide. We will travel further for the right job, just ask.

Do you take the old floor away?

Yes. Rip up and disposal is part of the job and it is included in the written quote. You do not need to organise a skip.

Are you insured?

Yes, fully insured, and we can provide a certificate of currency on request.
